Huddersfield 1-0 Chesterfield
Jordan Rhodes' 20th goal of the season gave Huddersfield their first win in four at the expense of Chesterfield.
The Terriers dominated the early stages and were rewarded when Rhodes turned in Lee Novak's cross with a backheel.
Chesterfield became more of a threat as the game went on and nearly equalised when Dean Morgan fired just wide.
Spireites striker Jordan Bowery then narrowly missed the target and Huddersfield's defence stood strong late on to earn the victory.
The defeat means Chesterfield are without a league win in 13 games.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Chesterfield manager John Sheridan told BBC Radio Sheffield:
"It's always very hard to take when you put in a performance like that against a team who are really flying at the moment.
"I thought we did really, really well. We defended really well against a very tough team to play against and I thought we matched them in lots of departments and we had some really good opportunities.
"At the end of the day, it wasn't meant to be and we've just got to carry on and I think we (need to) play like we have today and believe in ourselves, more than anything else."
