Blackpool 0-0 Watford
Matt Phillips and Lomana LuaLua were both denied by the woodwork as playoff-chasing Blackpool were frustrated by a resilient Watford.
Phillips saw a fierce drive cannon off a post after a mazy run before LuaLua was similarly denied from 20 yards.
Watford had their moments with Prince Buaben spurning a fine chance to give the visitors the lead.
But the game ended in stalemate after Blackpool's Gary Taylor-Fletcher back-heeled wide with the goal at his mercy.
The hosts made a strong start with on-loan Wigan striker Callum McManaman and Phillips causing Watford's defence problems.
Phillips almost opened the scoring in the seventh minute with his post-rattling effort before McManaman skilfully evaded a challenge to shoot narrowly wide.
And Watford must really have thought it was their lucky day midway through the half when LuaLua was able to beat the goalkeeper but not the post.
The Hornets, now five points above the relegation zone, were not without their own chances though and could easily have snatched the points.
Buaben nodded wide from Mark Yeates's 31st minute cross while Troy Deeney forced a fine save from Blackpool keeper Matt Gilks.
But Blackpool will be wondering how they did not win - Taylor-Fletcher wasting a great chance from close range just after the break.
