Arsenal striker Ellen White will be out to put the record straight when England face Serbia on Wednesday evening.

White was one of several players who missed chances as Hope Powell's team were held to a disappointing 2-2 away draw by the lowly-ranked Serbs.

"We went two up in Serbia and created so many chances to kill off the game," said White ahead of the Women's Euro 2013 qualifier at Doncaster.

"At the end it felt more like a defeat than a draw."

England now sit five points below group leaders Holland and two behind the Serbs, though they have a game in hand on both.

White added: "This time we've just got to put the ball in the net and as often as possible, because it's a must-win game if we want to go on and win the group."

Only the team that finishes top of the five-nation group is guaranteed a place at the finals in Sweden, with the runners-up having to face play-offs to qualify.

That adds to the pressure on England, who went into the qualifiers as favourites to win the group but now have to make up lost ground.

Coach Powell knows the bottom line when it comes to Wednesday's meeting with Serbia, who last Saturday beat Croatia 4-2.

"We just have to win this match," she said. "The girls have been working very hard in preparation and they all feel they have a point to prove.

"Serbia showed that they're a decent team when we played them over there, but we should still have won the game.

"This time we have to be more clinical and do a better job than we did before - and that means defensively as well as up front."

England will be boosted by the return of Boston Breakers striker Kelly Smith, who has missed all three qualifiers to date due to an Achilles tendon injury.

Everton goalkeeper Rachel Brown is also back, but New Jersey Sky Blue's Karen Bardsley should keep her place after a fine performance in last month's goalless draw with Holland.

England squad: Bardsley (New Jersey Sky Blue), Brown (Everton), Chamberlain (Bristol Academy) Bradley (Lincoln), A. Scott (Boston Breakers), Stoney (Lincoln), Susi (Birmingham City), Unitt (Everton), Whelan (Everton), Bassett (Birmingham City), Clarke (Lincoln), Houghton (Arsenal), Moore (Birmingham City), J. Scott (Everton), F. Williams (Everton), Yankey (Arsenal), Aluko (New Jersey Sky Blue), Carney (Birmingham City), Dowie (Everton), Smith (Boston Breakers), E. White (Arsenal), R. Williams (Birmingham City).
