Torquay United boss Martin Ling hailed his side's as "probably our most complete performance of the season".
Ling saw the Gulls secure their third successive win in League Two as they stayed 12th in the table.
"Defensively we were sound. Every time we went forward we looked like we were a threat," he told BBC Radio Devon.
"As an all-round performance it was probably up there with the top ones so far [this season]."
The Gulls also hit the post twice through Eunan O'Kane and Billy Bodin, as well as getting goals from Rene Howe, Lee Mansell and Bodin.
"On the break we always looked a danger, always looked like we could have chances," added Ling.
"The front three as a defensive unit, Danny Stevens and Billy, who don't really enjoy the defensive side of it, stuck in there.
"It was a 4-5-1 when we didn't have the ball and 4-3-3 when we did, which is massively important, and they take as much credit as anybody else for the clean sheet we had.
"We look like a good team again now. We went though our bad period and we've got to enjoy this while it lasts."
