Bradford 1-0 Rochdale

A late wonder strike from substitute Nahki Wells gave Bradford City a surprise FA Cup win over Rochdale.

Bantams keeper Jon McLaughlin made good early saves to deny Harry Bunn, Gary Jones and Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro as League One Dale dominated.

The hosts came into the game after the break and substitute James Hanson saw his header cleared off the line by Jason Kennedy.

Fellow replacement Wells won the tie with a blistering 30-yard strike.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Bradford City assistant manager Steve Parkin told BBC Raido Leeds:

Parkin praises 'positive' Bradford

"We performed well today in the second half and it looks like we've taken a liking to cup games.

"Rochdale came out of the blocks better than us and Jon [McLaughlin] was brought into work and did very well, but thankfully in the second half we were more positive with the ball and we brought their keeper into work and he made a couple of good saves.

"It' a good game to win. It's nice to play against teams from the division above and if you can win it's always very satisfying."

Rochdale manager Steve Eyre told BBC Radio Manchester:

Eyre praises Bantams keeper McLaughlin

"Every credit to both goalkeepers today. As the game got stretched both keepers were called upon to earn their wages and they did.

"I don't know if we need to be more clinical or need a bit of luck, but I thought it was going to peter out into a 0-0 draw.

"I look at what we've done, we've controlled large parts of the game, worked the goal and their goalkeeper has put in about 10 man-of-the-match performances into one."
