Colchester United have signed Swansea striker Casey Thomas on an emergency loan until 2 January.
The Wales Under-21 forward will go straight into the squad for Saturday's League One match at Tranmere Rovers.
Thomas, 20, has made just two appearances for Swansea since turning professional in 2009.
He said: "The manager wants me to gain some more experience. I can't wait to go there and hopefully play some first-team games."
He added: "I really don't mind where I play because in the modern game you have to be flexible and versatile."
Thomas has had spells at Newport and Port Talbot in the past.
