Tranmere forward Lucas Akins says Rovers striker Mustafa Tiryaki can be a proven League One goalscorer.
Tiryaki signed on a free transfer in the summer and scored twice during Saturday's 4-2 defeat at Scunthorpe.
"He knows he can score now in this league and if he can continue that for us we should do well," Akins told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"He's got a fantastic strike and we saw that in his second goal but he's got that instinct as well in the area."
Akins added: "He was unlucky not to get three to be fair, but it's great for us that he's going in there with confidence.
"Enoch Showunmi is a massive player for us when he's fully fit but at the moment Muzzy seems like he can fill that gap."
After fighting off relegation from League One last season, Tranmere have battled against the odds and find themselves two points outside the play-off positions.
Akins believes a change in attitude has been key to their success this season.
"No one was going to Scunthorpe for a draw, we were going to win," he continued.
"We have changed and we believe we can win games. We could have got a result at Scunthorpe, but it wasn't meant to be.
"But we'll go on to Colchester much wiser and maybe that defeat will do us the world of good. We've not seen that in a while to be honest and we're really down and we'll stick together and we'll come out fighting."
