Worcester City came away from Stalybridge Celtic empty handed after Connor Jennings condemned them to defeat with a goal in each half.

The striker put Celtic ahead after 36 minutes when he turned home a Joel Bembo-Leta cross from close range.

Jennings made the game safe on 11 minutes from time when he met Stephen Brogan's free-kick to double the lead.

Worcester's best effort came when midfielder Emeka Nwadike's header came back off the junction of post and bar.

Worcester manager Carl Heeley told BBC Hereford & Worcester:

"You can see they are a full-time side and some of their moves, well, they have all week to work on them.

"We knew that before we came here so we set our stall out to frustrate them, to keep our shape and to be organised.

"It was a shame the boys couldn't hold out until half-time because I felt we were very unfortunate to be behind at the break.

"That is the way that it goes, but we have created our chances as well today and on another day we could have got something."
