York City manager Gary Mills hopes Saturday's FA Cup Fourth Qualifying round tie at Wrexham will be the start of another good run in the competition.

The Minstermen have reached the third round in the last two seasons, with last year's run ending at Bolton.

Mills told BBC Radio York: "The FA Cup has got that magic, it's great to be involved with it.

"Without putting us down too much we're not going to win it but we know our aim is to get to that third round proper."

He added: "We've done that last season and the season before when I wasn't with the football club. It's great to be involved in it."

York and Wrexham have already met in Blue Square Bet Premier this season and will do so again in the League on 5 November.

Mills continued: "We know we've got to go to Wrexham and beat a good side. But they've got to beat a good side too.

"It makes for a good cup tie. One thing we don't want to do is come away defeated.

"So we either win there or we bring them back here on Tuesday night, which would make a very interesting week for Wrexham and York playing each other three times.

"It's important certainly financially for this football club. To go forward, if we have a good cup run and it comes to January and we need to strengthen, then the finances would help that.

"The other side of it is, myself and the players, being able to go and make a name for themselves. Lets get the TV cameras down here against a big side.

"That side of it is important and that's the magic of the FA Cup. It's a massive stage. There's not three points but there's a lot of glamour to come with it."
