Hartlepool 0-4 Charlton

Bradley Wright-Phillips's brace ensured Charlton stay three points clear at the top of League One as Hartlepool suffered a fourth home defeat in a row.

Wright-Phillips sidefooted Johnnie Jackson's left-wing cross past Scott Flinders before turning in Rhoys Wiggins' cross from six yards out.

Danny Hollands made it three for Charlton after the break by heading in Jackson's free-kick at the far post.

Scott Wagstaff compounded Hartlepool's misery with a fine shot from 12 yards.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Hartlepool United head coach Mick Wadsworth tells BBC Tees:

Wadsworth without positives after Pools loss

"There are no positives.

"The only positive we have is that exceptional performances in our first 11 games have given us the chance to be in a good position at the end of the season.

"We defended very poorly, we had to stay in the game, but we shipped goals too easily and that is not acceptable."

Charlton boss Chris Powell told BBC London 94.9:

Powell revels in satisfying away win

"Any win is great but especially on the road, you want to start off in a good fashion and we carried it through to the full 90 minutes. Hartlepool is a tough place to come.

"We were resilient and counter-attacked well, and to win 4-0 after a long journey from London is very pleasing.

"The boys have been focused and after three games in a week, which is a tall order, to come away with nine points is very good for us."
