On-loan Milton Keynes Dons striker Clinton Morrison says that Saturday's draw at home with Bournemouth left the whole squad frustrated.
Morrison, 32, scored the equalising goal after the Dons fell 2-1 behind to the struggling Cherries.
"No disrespect but if we're going to get where we want to go we have to beat teams like Bournemouth," Morrison told BBC Three Counties Radio.
"It was one of those days and I'm disappointed we didn't get the win."
He added: "Of the teams around us I think only Huddersfield won so it could have been worse but it's also a missed opportunity to close the gap on teams around us."
The draw leaves the Dons in fifth, four points outside the automatic promotion spots.
