Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has confirmed that defender Robert Huth will start against Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the Europa League on Thursday.

The 27-year-old, Stoke's player of the season last year, has not started any of the last three Premier League games.

"I'll make some changes again to freshen it up and Huthy will be involved," Pulis told BBC Radio Stoke.

"It's going to be the squad that gets us through this year and everybody's got to feel a part of it."

Pulis added: "There's people like Dean Whitehead who've not started but their attitude has been fantastic."

Huth was left on the bench for the 2-0 win against Fulham at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday, with the Stoke boss choosing to select Matthew Upson in place of the injured Jonathan Woodgate.

Pulis is yet to select an unchanged line-up for any of Stoke's 15 matches in all competitions this season.

Midfielder Glenn Whelan played the full 90 minutes on Saturday, despite starting both Euro 2012 qualifiers for the Republic of Ireland earlier in the week.

"I want to play as many times as I can," Whelan said. "The last couple of times I've been unfortunate after the internationals because I've been on the bench.

"I knew I had to work hard to stay in the team for next week and hopefully I've done that.

"It's not about me getting into the team, it's about the 11 that start and also the lads that are on the bench as well. We've got a good set of lads here."

Stoke are currently top of their Europa League group with four points from two matches.
