Loan signings Jake Jervis and Cristian Montano helped Swindon to a 2-0 win at Accrington, only the Robins' second league victory on the road this season.
Birmingham City striker Jervis had a goal ruled out for offside early on.
But he was not to be denied on 39 minutes when he raced clear for his third goal in Swindon colours.
Stanley livened up after a double half-time substitution but Montano wrapped up the points just before the hour on his debut, drilling home a low shot.
The Colombian only arrived from manager Paolo di Canio's former club West Ham on Thursday.
Accrington barely tested Swindon's other debutant, keeper Wes Foderingham, who arrived from Crystal Palace earlier this week.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Swindon Town manager Paolo di Canio told BBC Wiltshire:
"Away from home, we didn't have a good record to be honest and today can be crucial for many reasons.
"I played with four (loan) players, I wanted to bring fresh energy.
"The defensive line was working very, very well."
