Hartlepool crashed to their third successive league defeat as they were beaten by Wycombe.
The Chairboys went ahead when Pools goalkeeper Scott Flinders parried Ben Stevens' shot into the path of Scott Donnelly, who tapped into an empty net.
Stuart Beavon doubled Wycombe's lead, before Hartlepool's Sam Collins turned the ball into his own net.
Adam Boyd grabbed a consolation for Pools from the penalty spot after a harsh handball decision.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Hartlepool United head coach Mick Wadsworth told BBC Tees:
"We had a poor first half. We defended as a team quite poorly. Some of the attacking play was good, and the effort in the second half was terrififc.
"We pushed them back. We created a whole host of chances, perhaps three weeks ago they were going in, but we're having a mini-crisis and they're not going in.
"We have to be calm about it, we have to be disappointed but also very professional; think it through and get back to work to get back to winning ways as soon as possible, but we've come a long way in a year."
