Middlesbrough have extended the loan deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Carl Ikeme by a month.

Ikeme, 25, has made four league appearances for the club in the absence of the injured Jason Steele, keeping one clean sheet.

Wolves will reconsider the deal, which does not include permission to play in the Carling Cup, when it ends at the beginning of October.

Boro also have keepers Danny Coyne and Connor Ripley available for selection.

The arrival of Dorus De Vries from Swansea, added to the presence of Wayne Hennessey, has made Ikeme's first-team opportunities limited at Molineux.

Nigerian national Ikeme spent time on loan at Leicester last season and has also had temporary spells with QPR, Sheffield United and Charlton.

His opportunities at Molineux have been stalled by a string of injuries including a hip problem, limiting the stopper to just 16 appearances in eight years.
