Gateshead 1-1 Kettering

Leon McKenzie grabbed his first Kettering goal to help his side to a draw and end Gateshead's perfect start.

The hosts, aiming for their third successive league victory, went ahead through Jon Shaw's powerful penalty after Jean-Paul Marna had fouled him.

McKenzie levelled with a left-footed effort that he rifled into the roof of the net from the edge of the area.

The Poppies ended the match with 10 players after Steven Meechan was sent off for his second bookable offence.
