Kettering Town boss Morell Maison believes striker Jean-Paul Marna will be one of the top goalscorers in the Blue Square Bet Premier this season.
The 30-year-old, who was the fifth highest scorer in the division in 2010/11, netted in Tuesday's 1-1 pre-season friendly draw with Leicester.
Maison told BBC Radio Northampton: "In my opinion, Jean-Paul will be one of the top scorers in the division.
"He has a great understanding of the game and in the role that he plays."
Marna, who scored 19 goals last season, appeared in every single Blue Square Bet Premier game for Kettering and was given a three-year contract extension in May.
Meanwhile, Maison says that defender Luke Graham needs to improve if he is going to be a part of his plans for the new campaign.
The 25-year-old has had limited opportunities to play pre-season games for the Poppies, and was left out of the squad that faced the Foxes.
"Luke has got a bit to do to break into this group," he said. "His game hasn't moved to the levels that I expect and that I know he is capable of.
"He has had a slow start, and his back problem has limited him in training.
"I am looking for another centre-half so it is not going to be easy to get into this squad."
Graham joined Kettering on a free transfer from York City in 2010.
The former Northampton Town defender made 25 appearances for the Poppies last season, before moving on loan to Luton Town, where he played a further 10 league games.
