Derby County defender Jason Shackell is confident he will be fit for the start of the new Championship season.
Shackell, who joined from Barnsley this summer, has missed the start of pre-season and the games with Burton Albion and Macclesfield with a calf injury.
"It's not ideal to miss the first few weeks of pre-season but is not the end of the world," he told BBC Radio Derby.
"Hopefully I can get a bit of action in the last two friendly games and then I won't be too far off."
The Rams are already certain to be without Shackell's fellow centre-half Shaun Barker who has a knee injury and is expected to be out until September.
