Forward Milan Jovanovic has completed his transfer from Liverpool to Belgian club Anderlecht.

The Serb, 30, moved to Anfield from Standard Liege last summer on a free transfer, signing a three-year deal.

But he failed to gain a regular a place in the Liverpool side, making just 10 league appearances last campaign without scoring.

Jovanovic joined Standard Liege in 2006 and helped them win back-to-back Belgian titles in 2007-08 and 2008-09.

The Serb, who has also played for Shakhtar Donetsk and Lokomotiv Moscow, made his international debut for Serbia in a 2-0 win over Finland in June 2007 and has won 35 caps.

Liverpool, who have spent close to £50m on midfielders Jordan Henderson, Stewart Downing and Charlie Adam during the summer, are looking to offload a number of fringe players in their squad.
