Tranmere Rovers fail to get Vinicius Dantas visa
Tranmere's move for Brazilian striker Vinicius Dantas has collapsed after he was refused a work permit.
The 21-year-old agreed a one-year deal with Rovers in July after scoring twice against Shrewsbury in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
Rovers chairman Les Parry told the club website: "We're gutted, we thought we had a good case.
"He's a great lad with a lot of talent and potential and I'm sure he'll prove himself elsewhere."
Dantas was at US college side Azuza Pacific and Christian University where he spent the last three years studying sociology.
While in the US, he was selected for the 2010 NAIA All-American second team. He scored 15 goals and contributed nine assists last season, placing him second in the league in each category.
