Torquay United have moved to re-sign their former goalkeeper Martin Rice from Truro City.

The 25-year-old left Plainmoor to join Truro in 2009, initially on loan.

But Gulls boss Martin Ling has brought in the former Exeter man to act as cover for first-choice shot-stopper Bobby Olejnik.

"I heard about Martin having an agreement with Truro that if a League club came in for him, he was allowed to leave," Ling told the club websiteexternal-link.

"I felt it was an opportunity we couldn't miss because he's got experience, he's local, done the job before and fits the remit of a second-choice goalkeeper."

Rice started his career at Exeter, where he played 59 games, before joining Torquay in June 2007, but dropped into the non-league two years later having featured 14 times.
