Southend United have signed Crystal Palace midfielder Alassane N'Diaye on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old French-born Senagalese started his career in France before joining the Eagles in 2009.

Since making his Palace debut in August 2009, N'Diaye has gone on to make 42 appearances for the London club, 22 of which were off the bench.

He had a two-month loan spell with Swindon at the end of last season, where he featured six times.

Although recognised as a central midfielder, the 6' 5'' player can also operate at centre-half.
