Walsall have signed Carlisle United winger Kevan Hurst on a free transfer.
The 25-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at League Two side Morecambe.
Saddlers boss Dean Smith told the club website: "He's an ambitious lad who has got the right attitude. I am looking forward to working with him."
Hurst added: "This is an exciting move for me. Dean Smith is an up-and-coming young manager who really sold the club to me."
Hurst started his career with Sheffield United and spent time on loan at Boston, Stockport, Chesterfield and Scunthorpe before joining the Iron permanently for £200,000 in 2007.
After helping the club to promotion from League One in 2009 he moved on to the Cumbrians, where he made 35 league appearances in two seasons but was not offered a new deal this summer.
