Alfreton Town striker Chris Senior said manager Nicky Law's persistence played a huge part in convincing him to join the Blue Square Bet Premier newcomers.
The 29-year-old has joined the Reds on a two-year deal after being released by Darlington at the end of the season.
Senior said: "I spoke to a couple of managers and Nicky had been on the phone a few times, even when I was on holiday! It is good to feel so wanted.
"It is a club going in the right direction and I want to be part of it."
Senior left the Quakers days after scoring the only goal in their FA Trophy final win over Mansfield.
