Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson is still hopeful of completing deals for MK Dons pair Sam Baldock and Stephen Gleeson.

Posh have had two offers for striker Baldock and an approach for midfielder Gleeson rejected by the Dons.

And while Ferguson has suggested he will not increase the bids, he is remaining optimistic.

"I think it is key we get the ones we're after," the Posh manager told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

"We'll wait and see, I feel as time goes on we'll get it done.

"The bid that we've made, for me, is high enough, I think it's a very large bid for two players, one that is out of contract in 12 months [Gleeson].

"Would we go in with any higher bids? I doubt it.

"It might be a case of who blinks first, they want to keep their best players, we've put in a bid and if it's not meant to be it's not meant to be."

Similarly Ferguson has not given up on deals for Bournemouth defender Jason Pearce and Dagenham midfielder Danny Green.

A potential swoop for Pearce was scuppered when the Cherries found Portsmouth had a 50% sell-on clause in the 23-year-old's contract.

And a fee has yet to be agreed with the Daggers for 22-year-old Green.

Meanwhile Ferguson has ruled out moves for West Brom striker Simon Cox and Manchester United forward Nicky Ajose, who have both been linked with the London Road side.
