Derry City 0-0 Sligo Rovers
Derry City remain five points behind Airtricity League leaders Shamrock Rovers after being held by Sligo.
Eamon Zayed missed an early chance for Derry with Gareth McGlynn going close while Jason McGuinness headed over at the other end for Sligo.
McGlynn hit the side-netting after half-time but Sligo, helped by Joseph Ndo's introduction, then took control.
Derry keeper Gerard Doherty made a brilliant late double save to deny Alan Kirby and an Eddie McCallion own goal.
Derry's best chance fell to the in-form Zayed early on but he delayed his shot and the effort was blocked by Sligo keeper Brendan Clarke.
Another Zayed half-chance was then blocked while McGuinness headed Sligo best first-half chance over the bar after escaping his marker Shane McEleney.
James McClean's cross only needed a touch to put Derry ahead but McGlynn was unable to make contact.
McCallion's attempted header back to Doherty put the Derry keeper in trouble but he managed to block Eoin Doyle's effort.
Ruaidhri Higgins' deflected effort was saved by Clarke after the break while McGlynn also volleyed into the side-netting.
However, that was as good as it got for Derry as Sligo assumed completed control.
A series of Ndo corners and crosses caused panic in the Derry defence - including one delivery which struck the woodwork.
Richie Ryan also fired wide after running at the heart of the Derry defence while Higgins had to clear another Ndo effort off the line.
In the closing minutes, Doherty made a magnificent double save to firstly block a shot from the lively Kirby and then prevent McCallion's misdirected header from floating into the net.
