Luton Town have handed a two-year contract to defender Dean Beckwith following his release by Northampton.
The 27-year-old made 43 appearances for the Cobblers as they narrowly escaped relegation from League Two.
He arrived at Sixfields from Hereford in the summer of 2009 and went on to play 84 games.
The centre-half has experience of winning promotion from the Blue Square Bet Premier, having helped the Bulls to a play-off victory in 2008.
A Gillingham youth product, Beckwith failed to make a start during his time at Priestfield and joined Hereford in July 2005.
He clocked up 127 league appearances for the Bulls and added a further 75 during his time at the Cobblers.
Beckwith becomes Hatters boss Gary Brabin's second summer signing after the arrival of Rushden striker Aaron O'Connor.
