Wrexham have signed striker Jake Speight from Bradford City on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old scored six goals in 36 appearances last season, with one of those goals coming during a short loan spell at Port Vale.
Speight was given a 12-week prison sentence for assault in July 2010, shortly after joining Bradford from Mansfield Town for £25,000.
"He's a proven goalscorer," said Wrexham manager Dean Saunders.
"He'll do well for us. We need players like him."
Saunders has been looking to sign a striker since losing last season's top-scorer Andy Mangan to Fleetwood Town in May.
Speight, who had a year left on his contract with League Two side Bradford, finalised the move on Thursday and will officially join Wrexham on 1 July.
