Zambia thrash Mozambique to go top in Group C
Zambia stayed on course to reach the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations after thrashing Mozambique 3-0 in Group C in Lusaka on Saturday.
The visitors held firm but capitulated after the break, when all three goals went in.
Chris Katongo scored twice with striker Collins Mbesuma getting the other.
Chipolopolo could have won by a wider margin but for some erratic shooting, Mbesuma being the chief culprit.
Katongo opened the soring two minutes after the interval, tapping in Joseph Musonda's pass.
The Greece-based striker extended the home side's advantage in the 67th minute before Mbesuma sealed the victory a minute later.
Zambia are now top of the table with nine points after four matches, a point ahead of Libya, who drew 1-1 with the Comoros on Sunday.
Mozambique's defeat means the group is a now a two-horse race between Zambia and Libya.
