Northampton Town have agreed a two-year deal with full-back Seth Nana Ofori-Twumasi following his release from Peterborough United.
The move will be completed when the England Under-21 defender, known as Nana, returns from holiday.
The 21-year-old finished the campaign on loan at the Cobblers and will be re-united with boss Gary Johnson, who took him to Posh last summer.
"Nana can play as a right-back or cover in midfield," said Johnson.
"Nana was with me at Peterborough, we took him from Chelsea and he has been an England international from Under-16 through to Under-21 level.
"He has got power and pace and we have agreed to bring him in on a permanent deal having seen him improve each game when he was with us on loan.
"I think he got better and better as the loan went on as he adjusted to what we needed from him.
"Not only did he perform well for us, he went through the pain barrier for the sake of the club when he was on loan, putting himself out there when we needed him when other players would have cried off with injury."
The former Chelsea trainee made just six league starts for Peterborough, but played 11 times for Northampton when he joined on loan in March.
