St Johnstone have handed Kevin Moon a new short-term contract to give the midfielder a chance to prove his worth by the end of the year.
The 23-year-old came through the ranks at McDiarmid Park but was hampered by serious injury this season.
And he has been given a new deal until the end of December.
"The midfielder suffered cruciate ligament damage against Aberdeen in March last year," said the Scottish Premier League club's website.
"And it has been a long-haul back for the home-grown Perth talent.
"However, he has been able to make first-team appearances towards the end of the current campaign.
"And, having proved what a valuable asset on plenty of occasions over the past few years, the club has given him a contract for the first half of next season."
