Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law is in no doubt about the size of the task his side face just to stay in the Blue Square Bet Premier next season.
The Reds enjoyed a wonderful season, winning the Blue Square Bet North title by ten points to secure promotion.
"We're going to be pushed to the max week in, week out, and I am under no illusion," Law said.
"We wanted to get to where we now are but it is almost another division of the Football League."
Chairman Wayne Bradley has talked of his desire to take Alfreton full-time within three years to help them compete. But in the meantime Law knows it will be a struggle to hold their own against much bigger clubs, with much bigger budgets.
Law added: "Crawley have spent big and gone up. They have never been a league club but there are two more full-time outfits coming down which will make it even more difficult to compete against.
"We have already seen what can happen with Fleetwood. They did it the hard way, went up through the play-offs. They spent a lot of money in getting up and built on that, spending wisely again, and they are now in the play-offs for a place in the Football League.
"Then you look at Liam Watson at Southport, he kept pretty much all his players, brought three or four in without a big increase in his budget and they have gone down. There are the two different stories.
"Yes we beat Cambridge United and pushed Mansfield town twice in the Trophy, but they are one-off games where you get by on adrenalin.
"However, over 46 games you are not going to get by on adrenalin because after eight or ten games, the players are going to realise this isn't a novelty any more, they are going to be thinking 'I am actually a Conference North player.'
"We will just have to do our best. We are going to go and enjoy it. We do have a lot of players who I think have the potential to play a lot higher but, they are still unproven at the next level.
"Daryl Clare and Darren Stride have played at the next level but playing league football and non-league football is two completely different scenarios.
