Carlisle United have confirmed that forwards Nahki Wells and Ryan Bowman will leave when their contracts expire at the end of the season.
Youth-team graduate Bowman, 19, and Bermudan striker Wells, 20, have been told they are surplus to requirements by boss Greg Abbott.
"We have to let them move on," Abbott said.
"You have to do what you think is best for the players involved and for the club."
Abbott added: "It's always horrible to have to tell a young man that he won't be getting a contract.
"It's even worse when they are two genuine and likeable lads like these.
"They are both very hard working and a pleasure to have around.
"We will make sure that we do everything we can to help them find something else, and they will go with our very best wishes."
Wells joined the club in January, and has since made three substitute appearances.
Bowman made nine substitute appearances in total, three of which came this season, and also went on loan to Workington Reds during 2009-10 season.
