Tamworth manager Des Lyttle and his assistant Martin Prentice have resigned from the Blue Square Bet Premier relegation strugglers.
Tamworth are just one point clear of the drop zone with four games left.
Ex-Lambs keeper Dale Belford has taken charge and will be assisted by Steve Hinks and club captain Jay Smith.
A club statement read: "Tamworth manager Des Lyttle tendered his resignation from the club after Thursday's training session. The board accepted Des's resignation along with assistant manager Martin Prentice, who both leave with immediate effect.
"The club wish to thank Des Lyttle and Martin Prentice for their services and wish them both well for the future."
Lyttle played for Leicester, Worcester, Swansea, Nottingham Forest, Port Vale, Watford, West Brom, Northampton and Forest Green and was in his first managerial role.
