Southend United winger Ryan Hall has signed a new two-year deal at the club.
The 23-year-old joined the Shrimpers on a free transfer in the summer and has featured 43 times this season, scoring seven goals in the process.
"Ryan has done very well this season," Southend boss Paul Sturrock told the club website.
"I'm really pleased to have got him tied down for the next two seasons and hopefully next year he can build on the potential he has already shown."
In March Hall pleaded guilty to a charge of affray following an argument at the club's Christmas party.
After an appeal his 20-week jail sentence was reduced to 12 weeks and suspended.
"He's had his problems off the pitch which have been well documented but on it he has really developed as the season has gone on," Sturrock added.
The Shrimpers boss also said he hoped to have "two or three" more players signed up before the end of April.
