Charlton 0-1 Huddersfield

Huddersfield kept their automatic promotion bid on course after Joey Gudjonsson's late winner at Charlton.

Gudjonsson secured the win with a viciously struck free-kick from 20 yards out which left Addicks keeper John Sullivan with no chance.

Scott Wagstaff almost gave the hosts the dream start only to be denied by Jamie McCombe's last-ditch tackle.

Visitors' keeper Ian Bennett saved well from Gary Doherty while Gary Roberts headed just wide for the Terriers.

Charlton boss Chris Powell told BBC London 94.9:

"I feel huge disappointment because we had the better chances of the two teams.

"We kept their keeper busy but I think they showed the kind of team that they are and the kind of run that they are on at the moment.

"We should have come out of this game with a point or three that's for certain."

Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark tells BBC Radio Leeds:

"I thought Benik Afobe was outstanding and when you put into the situation he's only just turned 18 I think there's a special talent there.

"It's no coincidence that we're on a run and the lack of goals that's going in our net when you look at the experience of the back lads and I haven't been able to field that back four for many reasons.

"As you drive to the ground it's fantastic to see the blue and white shirts, outside the pubs and walking the streets and their backing and their enthusiasm really drives the lads on and we thank them for that and we need them to stick with us."
