Stockport 2-2 Stevenage

Stockport County's slim hopes of avoiding relegation were dealt a blow as Stevenage scored late to draw.

After a goalless first half, John Mousinho crossed for Mark Roberts to smash Stevenage into the lead.

Greg Tansey equalised from the spot after Lawrie Wilson's handball and Matt Glennon's clearance was headed in by Matt Paterson to put Stockport ahead.

But deep into injury time Wilson made up for his earlier error by volleying home from Rob Sinclair's cross.

POST-MATCH REACTION

Stockport County manager Ray Mathias told BBC Radio Manchester:

"It was a cruel result, the players worked tremendously hard throughout and took the game to them.

"We had a lot of character today, the mental character was absolutely superb and hopefully in the next five games we can continue that.

"You take nothing away from the players today, I felt they were hard done to by the result and they deserved the win."

Stevenage manager Graham Westley told BBC Three Counties Radio:

"I was glad to go in level at half time, especially after the chance that was missed by Vincent. We didn't come here expecting it to be easy. They have turned it on against the top sides.

"We were going to have to work for the points and we didn't work anywhere near hard enough, I don't think anyone can deny that.

"It was good to see the drive and energy going through to minute 90, and beyond. Obviously we are delighted that we managed to pinch something out of it."
