Dundee United notch Goodwillie & Houston awards double
Dundee United's Peter Houston and David Goodwillie have been named March manager and player of the month, respectively.
Houston steered United to five consecutive Scottish Premier League wins, climbing to fourth in the table.
Goodwillie scored twice during the Tayside club's impressive run of form.
Meanwhile, Houston says Goodwillie will only be allowed to leave Tannadice if the club receive an offer they feel equals the players talents.
The manager would not put an exact figure on the striker, who this week signed a one-year extension to his contract, but says any prospective buyer must start at an offer in excess of £1m.
"He is as good as any striker in the SPL on his day," said Houston.
"Eventually David will end up in England at a big club but for the time being he knows he has still a wee bit to go and thankfully it's at Dundee United."
Goodwillie confirmed his ambition to play in England but that, for the moment, he is more than happy to stay at United.
And the 22-year-old, who has scored 15 goals so far this season and was targeted by Rangers earlier this season, says that a lot of the success he has had is down to Houston.
"(Former manager) Gordon Chisholm gave me my debut at Ibrox when I was only 16 and, although we lost the game 5-1, I really enjoyed it. Every manager who has come in has believed in me.
"But I have played most of my games under the current manager so I would have to say Peter Houston has helped me the most. He has showed faith in me through highs and lows."
"It's an ambition for every young boy to play in England when you are coming up playing football. Hopefully at sometime in the future but for now I am happy here and that's fine."
