Ice skater hopes to shine at Special Olympics

Runcorn's Stephanie Gott suffered a stroke as a baby which left her with learning difficulties and limited leg and arm movement.

But the 19-year-old is now getting ready to represent Great Britain in ice skating at the Special Olympics World Winter Games, which start in Austria on Saturday with the opening ceremony and run until 25 March.

Great Britain has sent 21 athletes to the event, which will feature almost 3,000 Special Olympics athletes from 110 nations competing in nine winter sports.

BBC North West Tonight's Stuart Pollitt reports.
