Fermanagh man Brendan Dolan progressed to the second round at the PDC World Championship as he earned a 3-0 victory over England's Colin Osborne.

Number 15 seed Dolan, who has clinched two titles world ranking titles in recent months, won the opening set 3-1 helped by a checkout of 118.

The Belcoo man needed to go to a deciding leg in the second set helped a brilliant finish of 167.

Dolan's win set up a second-round meeting with Gary Anderson.

"Colin hasn't had a great year, but on any given day he can destroy you and I knew that, so I had to be at my best," said Dolan.

"I didn't feel totally comfortable up there and I think there's a lot more in my scoring, but my finishing was very good.

"I've worked hard at my darts to get this far and I'll work harder to get to the top. I do believe I will get to the top."

Scottish player Anderson reached the final at the 2011 Championship but he has not been at his best this year and on current form, Dolan looks capable of progressing to round three at Alexandra Palace.
