Disappointed to see Archer play for England and not West Indies. Understand he had an English father with UK passport, but only arrived in UK aged 20. Would've loved to see him play for West Indies and improve them, making them competitive like the old days. Huge shame, but for England fans
Can’t wait to see Archer bowling down under, if he’s got ‘em hopping about on our soft pitches.
912. Posted by Jayser100 "As for funkymonkey claiming we can dish it out but not take it, do me a favour mate. I've played with and against a number of hotshot Aussie cricketers in our league and they are the biggest sulkers on the planet when it goes wrong."-------------------------------I think you need to read what funkymonkey said again. He's saying exactly the same as you.
916 - how are previous world cups/ Ashes series records quality markers for the two teams playing in this series?
No one with an ounce of humanity wants to see anyone get hit on the head and hurt; but cricket has always had an element of physical risk just like skiiing, boxing, motor racing etc. With all the modern protective devices, why should the bouncer be outlawed (take away the bouncer and you take away the hook shot)? The resurrection, though, of the Fast-Bowlers' Union is long overdue.
Said before Lords test a draw not too bad for England . Now with smith gone and archer firing . One day World Cup now in the distance England will nail these average Aussies at Headingley . Christ almighty smith been carrying them in two tests .
If I remember rightly, England claimed the injury of Anderson was further up the calf, but that was not confirmed / unconfirmed by any Hospital report. He was going to field in the second innings but he turned whilst running and something gave.
As I understand it, they are allowed a fielder, but he can't bowl or bat.The only influence would be catches and run outs as well as run saving.
174 killed at/in games of cricket in Australia since 1858https://www.sbs.com.au/news/174-people-killed-playing-cricket-study
917 - Ken - I might be wrong and am open to being corrected but if a player goes into a test carrying an injury and that injury flares up they are not allowed a 12th man fielder. If that is correct how did Anderson get away with it.
Can’t wait to see Aussies play against Anderson and Archer in tandem... but who would anderson replace?
