245. Hawzeeboy. I kinda already knew that :-) When you see AR has been so badly under-used in the Summer series and even on the SL tour. For his actual 50 wickets it took him 16 Tests, and would have been even sooner, if he was not taken off by Root against India as soon as he broke a vital partnership.
Efc forever - yes very odd indeed and leaves you wondering about the motivation. I can only think that the downgrades are from Rashid detractors who don't like any hint of positive acknowledgement towards him. Anything else is beyond my mental capabilities.
243. Thanks mateOdd someone marked me down for stating a fact and asking a question With Rashid batting much lower than the other 3 it seems very impressive. Until recently he was hardly labelled an all rounder I guess the other 3 had well over 500 runs by the time they got to 50 wickets
239. efc forever: Using Cricinfo's Statsguru, I get Woakes 18 matches, Ali 18 matches, Stokes 22 matches. Unlike Rashid, these three got to 500 runs before 50 wickets.
Mr Vaughan showing his towering intellect again regarding No Balls. His latest comment seems to suggest that they are nothing to do with the umpire as the relationship is between the bowler and the line. I suppose the same goes for lbw then as the relationship is between the batsman and the bat so why do they give decisions?
Unsung heroes: leach what an impact he's has, the attacking accuracy and on his debut. Foakes runs in the first test crucial to winning. Burns and Jennings counterattack in 2nd innings in 2nd test was the match winning cricial runs. Sam Currans amazing runs down the lower order vital. Jennings spectacular short leg catches and lastly stokes 3 wickets on a flat track.
Facts: Rashid debut against Pakistan in UAE is tough, Then tour to Bangladesh and took 7 wickets in 2 tests. Then on tour to India against best spin players in the world and took 23 wickets. He had 3 tough away tours on his debut, no home series23 wickets against India he was dropped and when the ashes selection was Crane he gave up red ball. Nasser Hussain, Vaughn n Boycott castigated him.
It's taken Rashid 18 Tests to reach 50+ wickets and 500+ runs How does that compare to Woakes, Ali and stokes? Over to you any stattos out there
231It was an attempt at some British humour. Not the greatest, I will give you that, but clearly far too good for somebody like you.No surprise there mind.
James, can you believe it? Stokes out twice and the same spinner bowls a no ball. Absolute drama every time Stokes and Buttler stand at a cricket crease?
@235 Wide awake and loving it. :)
Wake up folks and tune in. Buttler and Stokes at the wicket after England fell to 39 - 4 and this is pure BOX OFFICE batting.
Alan, I agree that he's England's top spinner - I thought that Ed Smith put right an obvious wrong (not to say weird) decision when he selected Rashid earlier this year - he put the cat among the pigeons with the controversy it caused, but I think a lot of people now realise it was a good call. I mean Rashid felt so hard done by he turned his back on the red ball game - his Yorks' & England's loss
Jackpedro Oh OK, didn't realise that, Don't know then, he is England's best spinner, but picking more than one spinner still gives English selectors a nosebleed.
When was the last time England's 3 national teams all won inside a week (cricket, rugby and football)? The future is looking bright. No I haven't forgot the women, I am just not interested in cultural appropriation. Mind you, the netball was a great watch in the Olympics and a proper culturally female game.
15 oversAus 105-2Gardner guides a four through the covers to level the scores.I think England would take a Super Over from here, if offered.Lol who do the BBC employ for commentary? Why on earth would Aus offer you super over to risk losing the cup all they needed was 1 run off 5oversSome daft commentators on here
