Leicestershire batsman Colin Ackermann:

"Our target was to bat the whole day and get as close to their score as we could, and we pretty much did that.

"Sussex have some high-class bowlers, and there was a bit in the wicket, especially some variable bounce.

"There was a bit of turn too, so I had to keep applying myself.

"Cozzie (Mark Cosgrove) was brilliant in the morning, he really got the scoreboard moving, and took a lot of pressure off me."

Sussex's Luke Wells:

"It was nice to get a prolonged bowl today, not having bowled properly for a long time through knee injuries and so on.

"After not getting runs in the first innings it was nice to go out there and contribute, and I feel like I'm pretty much back to 100% fitness.

"It's a rare sight to see two leg-spinners bowling in tandem, with myself and Will Beer, and I think we both enjoyed it."
