Lagan Valley Steels Twenty20 Cup final at Waringstown

Waringstown are the new Lagan Valley Steels Twenty20 Cup victors after what turned out to be a comfortable three-wicket victory over Lisburn at The Lawn.

The visitors, after a 109-run partnership between Cody Chetty and Steve Lazars, totalled 161 for three in their 20 overs but in reply Waringstown were soon in trouble.

They were 1-1, then 2-2 and 28-3 before Greg Thompson stamped his authority on the game. He had four sixes and 14 boundaries in his 111 and was dismissed when the teams were level.

One ball later, after 18.2 overs, Waringstown secured their victory.
