Gloucestershire have appointed wicketkeeper-batsman Gareth Roderick as their captain in four-day cricket.
The 24-year-old has scored over 2,500 runs for the county since joining in 2012, and signed a contract to remain at the club until 2018 in January.
Australian batsman Michael Klinger will remain limited-overs captain for the County Championship Division Two side.
"He is an integral part of our four-day team and has the qualities to lead the side," head coach Richard Dawson said.
"He speaks his mind, is very clear in what he wants to achieve, and has the full backing of the dressing room.
"There are a number of senior players in there who will able to support him and it's a great opportunity for him."
