Director of cricket Matthew Maynard says he is confident that Somerset will avoid relegation and remain in Division One next year.
Somerset face a crucial clash with fellow strugglers Hampshire, starting in Taunton on Wednesday.
And Maynard is aware his side have a massive four days coming up.
When asked if he believed they would be a Division One team next season, Maynard told BBC Somerset: "Very much so."
Following their match against Hampshire, Somerset face Sussex and Warwickshire next and Maynard added: "We've got some quality players in our set-up and we haven't quite clicked.
"It's not definitely relegation for either side. There are still two big games to go after the Hampshire game."
Maynard was also non-committal on his future should Somerset go down, saying he has the full support of the board at the club.
"I've still got two years left and I will look at what I've done and what I could have done better, but I do that on a daily basis anyway," he said.
"It's for the chairman and chief Executive (to decide) and they have been very supportive. We are trying to build a team for the future."
