Devon's cricketers began their Minor Counties Championship campaign with a draw against Wales at Sandford after a batting collapse.
Having bowled Wales out for 211 in their second innings, setting Devon a target of 188 to win, the hosts top order struggled to 28-5.
Zak Bess steadied Devon with 35 not out and put on 56 for the seventh wicket with Ryan Stevenson.
Trevor Anning then scored 39 not out as Devon made 154-7 before the close.
Earlier Devon bowler Charlie Miles had taken 5-79 in the Welsh second innings, including the wicket of opener Greg Holmes who scored 105.
Devon took 11 points from the match, as did Wales, to leave the two sides mid-table in the Minor Counties Western Division.

Devon were 302 all out after their first innings, a lead of 23, as Matthew Golding made 74.
But Welsh opener Greg Holmes ended the day unbeaten on 90, while Stefan Roberts hit 48, as he and Holmes put on 105 for the third wicket.
