Nottinghamshire seam bowler Luke Fletcher must lose weight and improve his fielding if he wants to play international cricket, says county coach and England selector Mick Newell.
Fletcher, 26, has impressed in the one-day formats for Notts.
But he was allowed to join Surrey for Championship cricket on a three-match loan earlier this month.
"If Luke were to play for England he would get exposed with his fielding," Newell told BBC Radio Nottingham.
"My view for Luke, as it has been for a number of years, is he will need to be a number of kilograms lighter than he currently is so he can field better.
"In county cricket you can get away with a little bit and be hidden in the field, but you don't get that licence playing for England.
"That is the are of Luke's game that is probably holding him back, but he is aware of that."
Fletcher has taken 203 first-class wickets at an average of 29.38 in 66 appearances for Notts and will still feature for them in the T20 Blast campaign.
