Samit Patel: Nottinghamshire all-rounder signs new contract
All-rounder Samit Patel has signed a new three-year deal at Nottinghamshire.
Patel, 30, made his Notts debut at the age of 16 in 2002 and has played for England in all formats, but his last international appearance came in 2013.
"Spending such a long time at a club the size of Notts is an honour, and I didn't think twice about extending my contract," Patel said.
"I still harbour England ambitions and playing with Nottinghamshire will give me the best chance of doing that."
Patel scored 1,125 first-class runs in 2014 and also took 23 wickets in the County Championship.
He added: "There's no better place to play cricket than Trent Bridge. I want to see us carry on competing and winning trophies.
"I've played here all my life and this club has given me a lot. I want to carry on giving back."
