|Surrey 284-9 (50 overs) beat Somerset 267 (44.1/46 overs) by seven runs (D/L method)|
Somerset missed out on a One-Day Cup quarter-final place as Zafar Ansari helped Surrey to a seven-run Duckworth-Lewis victory at The Oval.
Steven Davies (50), Rory Burns (40), Gary Wilson (45) and Aneesh Kapil (59) helped the hosts to 284-9.
Somerset had their innings interrupted by floodlight failure and were set a revised target of 275 from 46 overs.
Marcus Trescothick (80) gave the visitors a good start, but they were dismissed for 267 as Ansari took 3-38.
James Hildreth made 53 but the visitors lost their way in the middle-order, after they had seemed well set before the power surge in south London blew out The Oval floodlights.
There was a scenario where Somerset would have sneaked past Durham for a quarter-final place but, after the 25-minute delay, they had to win the game in 38.2 overs.
The revised target proved too difficult and, despite defiance from last-pair Alfonso Thomas (17 not out) and Jack Leach (18), Somerset fell short.
The pair had come together with Somerset on 233-9 following the dismissal of Lewis Gregory (23) to Tim Linley (3-68).
In the end, even a dramatic win would not have secured the visitors a last-eight place as Nottinghamshire clinched a one-wicket victory over Warwickshire.
